    Required for LMT Diploma, but also open to individuals interested in massage therapy for self-healing and to share with friends and family. In this 200 hour hands-on course  You will be inspired and well educated to practice massage therapy safely as a gift to your family and community at no charge. Our belief is that massage is for everyone, and so anyone can complete Level 1, regardless of whether they want to go further to become a licensed therapist or not.     Essential Oils for Healing and Bodywork 20 hours

    Essential oils are an important part of body work and massage therapy. A 20 hour class on essential oils can provide a comprehensive introduction to the many uses and benefits of these natural products. In this course, students will learn how to safely use essential oils in their practice, as well as gain knowledge about the different types of oil available and how they can be used for specific treatments.

    The first part of the class will cover basic safety information such as proper storage techniques, dilution rates, contraindications with medications or other health conditions that may affect usage, potential allergic reactions or sensitivities that might occur when using certain blends or concentrations. Students will also receive instruction on identifying quality essential oil sources so they can make informed decisions when purchasing supplies for their practice.

    In addition to learning about safety considerations related to using essential oils in bodywork sessions and massage therapy practices ,students in this course will also have hands-on experience creating customized aromatherapy blends based on individual client needs . This portion is designed not only teach students practical skills but also help them understand what kinds of effects each type blend has on physical , mental & emotional states . By understanding which combinations produce desired results , practitioners are better equipped offer tailored services that meet clients’ unique needs while promoting overall wellbeing & relaxation .

    COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is an introduction to the Manual therapy industry and the basic services that Manual therapist perform. Coursework covers client assessment, treatment, stretching and strengthening. The use of SOAP notes and client clinical notes will be discussed as well. As part of their training students are expected to perform sanitary practices and infection control as required by state law.

    PREREQUISTE: None

    COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the course, the successful student should be able to:

    1. Have a basic understanding of Manual therapy including definition and evolution.
    2. Be able to properly asses client issues.
    3. Treat client with proper Manual therapy techniques.
    4. Create specific treatment plans catered to the client.

    INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS:: Lecture, demonstration and written assignments. Student time during the course is allocated among a set of interrelated activities, including lecture and classroom discussions, group preparation of in- class assignments and independent reading. Students will be required to provide models when needed.
